Jacob Hall, boy shot at SC school, dies

ANDERSON COUNTY, S.C. -- Jacob Hall, a 6-year-old student shot this week at Townville Elementary School, has died.

Anderson County Coroner Greg Shore told the Independent Mail that Jacob died this afternoon at Greenville Health System Children's Hospital.

Jacob died at 12:56 p.m., Shore said.

His body will be brought back to Anderson County. An autopsy is scheduled for 11 a.m. Sunday, Shore said.

Jesse Osborne, 14, is accused in the Townville shootings and in killing his father, Jeffrey Osborne.

Investigators with the Anderson County Sheriff's Office say the teen killed his father Wednesday at their home on Osborne Road before heading to the school about 3 miles away.

Jacob was shot  and at least one bullet pierced his femoral artery. His family said Thursday that he had suffered a severe brain injury and was on life support.

During the Wednesday shooting, another 6-year-old student and first-grade teacher Meghan Hollingsworth were also wounded. They were treated at AnMed Health Medical Center and released that day.
