Youth explorer program facing controversy

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS 11)--New information coming in from our news partners at the Courier-Journal about explosive allegations against a youth program at LMPD.

A former member of the Youth Explorer Program says he was raped and sexually abused by two officers.

The Journal was able to get a copy of the lawsuit that had been sealed by a judge.

The documentation shows the plaintiff says he was sexually abused for a two-year period starting when he was 17 years old. He says this happened in the officers' homes and police vehicles. In the suit the plaintiff also claims those officers recorded episodes and used them to make pornography.

As of March10, Commonwealth Attorney Tom Wine said LMPD hasn't forwarded its criminal investigation to his office for prosecution. The accusations made in a lawsuit only show one side of the case.
