LOUISVILLE (WHAS11) -- The idea to charge for parking at Louisville’s Waterfront Park is on hold, and it appears the mayor is asking for more time to look at other ideas.
The Waterfront Development Board was set to take up the parking fee, but has put the idea on hold for two weeks.
The park is looking to charge for the first time in its history. The fee could be $5 for three hours of parking.
Waterfront Park lost $420,000 in state funding and is trying to make up the lost money. The mayor and the chairman of the Waterfront Board are looking into alternatives to the parking fee. They would not disclose what those options could be.
