USL apologizes for commentators' remarks after LCFC's championship win

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- The United Soccer League is apologizing for comments two television announcers made following Louisville City FC's championship win.

In a YouTube video, Mike Watts and Kate Markgraf were critical of the playing field at Slugger Field, the security guards and the quality of the game.

The USL said, in a statement released Nov. 14, the team made personal comments that were mistakenly aired on the USL Cup's International YouTube feed.

The league apologizes for the language and tone of the comments saying, "Louisville City FC did an amazing job creating a world-class atmosphere for the USL Cup. The USL applauds the club's efforts and is extremely proud of Monday night's game."
