LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- A new proposed ordinance designed to help slow the shrinking tree canopy in Louisville is one step closer to being passed.
The Public Works, Parks, Sustainability and Transportation Committee voted to approve the ordinance. It now goes to the full council for a vote nearly a year after the proposal was first introduced.
The ordinance would require any tree removed from a public right of way to be replaced.
