Telethon raises thousands for Chuck Olmstead Fund

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – WHAS11 News raised more than $4 thousand for the Chuck Olmstead Memorial Fund during the annual telethon on September 15.

Olmstead was a WHAS11 reporter for 34 years before he suddenly died of a brain aneurysm in 2009. In his honor, the street outside of the WHAS11 station was named Chuck Olmstead Way, and an annual telethon, operated by his wife Candy, is held in the WHAS11 studios.

The money raised is used to offset the costs of the free health screenings that the Chuck Olmstead Memorial Fund provides for community members.
