LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Today a group of high school students from JCPS was given a tour of the Ford Assembly plant as a possible career path.
The tour took students through every part of the car-building process.
They heard from Ford employees as well as Mayor Greg Fischer. The mayor told students he actually got his start in manufacturing working in a small garage back in 1980.
“Involving our youth at this age really helps them form what they think their career is about. It’s not just assembly. It’s engineering. It’s accounting. It’s all kinds of careers in manufacturing,” Mayor Fischer said.
