12-year-old boy in critical condition after being shot in the forehead, relative says shooting was accidental

(WHAS11) -A 12-year-old Bullitt County boy is in critical condition after what appears to be an accidental shooting.
It happened on Roy Lane Road in Shepherdsville around noon on Thursday.
Police say that a 16-year-old relative says a 22 caliber pistol discharged when he put it down on a table.
The 12-year-old was hit in the forehead, and was airlifted to Kosair Children’s Hospital.
Police have not charged the 16-year-old with any crimes.
