Former Shively police officer acquitted on 43 charges
10:26 AM EDT on Saturday, September 6, 2008
(WHAS11) -A former Shively police officer has been acquitted on 43 charges of theft by deception.
Curtis Gordon faced the allegations when a company he owned failed to provide police officers as security guards, as promised.
A felony count of forgery was also dropped by the judge during the trial.
Gordon has now filed a lawsuit against the Louisville Metro Police Department.
Thomas Clay, Gordon’s attorney, stated, “It’s almost ruined his business. It’s wreaked havoc on his family and somebody needs to step up and be held accountable for what’s happened to him.”
Gordon says the jury’s verdict comes with a big sigh of relief for him.
