WHAS11 coverage

(WHAS11) - A Louisville youth soccer coach is facing some serious charges.  Police say he tried to arrange to have sex with a 14-year-old girl.  The girl he thought he was talking online turned out to be an undercover detective

25-year-old Robert Haile was arrested and charged with unlawful transaction with a minor.

Police say he thought he was talking to a 14-year-old girl on the internet.  They say he emailed graphic images of himself.

According to police he told the girl to meet him at Robison Park in Lyndon to perform a sex act in his car.  Haile didn't know he the 14-year-old girl he thought he was talking to was actually an undercover detective.

He's been released from jail.

Haile coached at Mockingbird Valley soccer club off Zorn Avenue.  WHAS11 tried to talk to the clubs management about the matter but they referred us to this statement posted on their website.

It says in part, “the charges against Mr. Haile are extremely serious and will be dealt with by the authorities.  Effective immediately Robby Haile is relieved of his duties at Mockingbird Valley soccer club and will have no further contact with youth involved in our club.”

The soccer club did do a background check on Haile.  He didn't have a record in Jefferson County.  No complaints have ever been filed against Haile in the five years he worked at Mockingbird Valley.
