Local firehouse is one hot property before even hitting the market
06:36 PM EST on Tuesday, January 6, 2009
Louisville, Ky. (WHAS11) - Home sales nationwide are sagging but a local firehouse seems to be one hot property. People are already calling about it and it is not even listed yet. What about you, are you interested in a firehouse?
Telesquirt 21 on Frankfort Avenue is a fire house that goes back to 1891. It’s one of several firehouses that will be closing.
The 6th and York firehouse closes just days from now but its future yet to be decided by the city.
The Engine 6 firehouse on Portland Avenue is going to close too, but neither is generating lots of interest yet.
It’s the Clifton firehouse on Frankfort Avenue, also slated to close, that’s generating calls from home buyers and investors. Officially it’s not been put on the city’s surplus list for sale but everyone knows it will in the not too distant future since its replacement is under construction not far away on Story Avenue.
