Tuesday was a beautiful day to be out and about catching up on some exercise.
The Baptist Hospital East Walking Club officially kicked off their new year. The club is a way for members to continue their resolutions to exercise more.
As part of the kickoff, booths were set up at Oxmoor Center. There, people could get some checkups for blood pressure and posture, as well as more health information.
“We need to remind people to get more exercise and walking is an easy thing for most people to be able to do,’ advises registered nurse Chris Summerfield.
Summerfield says it's important that you find something you enjoy doing.
This is the 18th year for the hospital's walking club. It costs $5 to get a lifetime membership.
