07:54 PM EDT on Thursday, September 4, 2008
(WHAS11) - The New Albany smoking ban could be dead.
The city council president says the council does not plan to override the mayor’s veto.
Two weeks ago the council passed a comprehensive smoking ban by a 5-4 vote.
New Albany mayor Doug England vetoed the ban, but recommended changes.
Council member Stephen Price says the council won’t consider those changes.
