Home owner catches burglars red handed; fires warning shots with weapon
11:44 PM EDT on Monday, May 12, 2008
(WHAS11) - Two accused serial burglars are behind bars in Bullitt County tonight after a homeowner caught them red-handed.
Police say 40-year-old Larry Tedrow and 43-year-old James Brewer have committed multiple burglaries, including three yesterday.
Donna Dedas tells us that when she returned home Sunday, she saw the men coming out of her house on Pine Tavern road.
She called 911, got a gun from her home, and fired shots at the men as they tried to flee.
No one was injured and police later located the men.
Donna Dedas said, “If I was to shoot someone, I would never want to shoot someone like that, never shoot someone in the back. Hope and pray never have to do anything like that, I was really firing warning shots to (them).”
Deputies are investigating to see if other burglaries can be connected to them.
