Jeffersontown Chamber of Commerce press release

Jeffersontown, KYThe Jeffersontown Police Department utilized its resources wisely as they enlisted the help of the Chamber Jeffersontown.  “Because of the trusted relationship and direct contact we (the Chamber) have with our members, the police knew that we could get the warning out quickly,” explains Chamber Jeffersontown President Vicky Weber.  Colonel Kim Weber explains that the Jeffersontown Police came to the Chamber on Monday June 4 with a police warning about two suspects that were seen coming into area businesses and stealing laptops and purses, “They were targeting the industrial park.  We were just a step behind them.”

“With Jeffersontown being such a typically safe area, many businesses leave their doors open,” says Vicky.  The suspects pretended to be looking for the bathroom or waiting for someone.  Only 12 hours after the email alert came from the Chamber office, the suspects were apprehended.  Cardinal Hill Rehabilitation Center/Easter Seals of Louisville, was the suspects’ last stop.

Phyllis Santos, Cardinal Hill Development Director, had forwarded the Chamber’s warning email around the office that morning, and the staff was prepared when the suspicious persons entered their building.  From Cardinal Hill/Easter Seals, the suspect had taken a cash box and items out of a purse and wallet.  The police arrested the suspects in the parking lot of Cardinal Hill.  Carolyn Neal Pfister, Program Manager for the Chamber and the one who sent the warning email, said how positively the Chamber members responded with emails and phone calls.  “Members mentioned what a comfort and service this was, and how grateful they were that the Chamber was able to notify them quickly,” Carolyn explains.

The Chamber Jeffersontown is the area’s 3rd largest Chamber of Commerce.  Operating since 1963, the Chamber has expanded its membership to over 850 members.  The Chamber is a not-for-profit organization that is dedicated to creating a strong local business and networking environment for all area and surrounding area companies.  For more information please visit www.jtownchamber.com or call 267-1674.  To contact Lt.
