LMPD officers under investigation in pornography scandal
05:23 PM EDT on Thursday, May 8, 2008
WHAS--A scandal is unfolding inside the Louisville Metro Police Department.
Whas11 News has learned that several LMPD officers, including a lieutenant, are under investigation. The officers are accused of viewing and watching porn on city computers.
The probe could fine anywhere from 11 officers to more than two dozen who have used their city laptops to view and or email pornography. Investigators are now zeroing in on the emails.
One officer has already been reprimanded.
How the officers were able to view such material on city computers is unclear. There are no indications any of the material viewed was child pornography, but whatever the material, police brass have no intention of tolerating it.
WHAS11 News has asked for a list of all officers who have been reprimanded or otherwise disciplined in the case, but we have not received the list as of yet.
