Playground for special needs kids to become reality
01:13 PM EDT on Tuesday, April 24, 2007
A special surprise will make a new playground become a reality for some special needs kids.
Today, Kosair Charities donated $90,000 to Churchill Park School.
The school was $83,000 short of the needed money to build the sensory playground. It’s designed especially for special needs students with conditions like cerebral palsy, autism, and Down syndrome.
Through donations, grants, and funds the school had already raised $223,000 for the project.
Construction on the new playground will begin this summer and it will be finished before the next school year.
