24 hour watch for zoo elephant
11:27 AM EDT on Wednesday, March 14, 2007
It's a first at the Louisville Zoo and all eyes are watching.
The 24-hour a day watch continues for Mikki, an African elephant who's due to have a baby pachyderm.
The birth will be the zoo's first infant elephant in its nearly 40-year history.
A zoo veterinarian says his best guess is that the calf will be born in early to mid-April. The calf's gender is unknown.
