Long-awaited Art Sanctuary Soiree returns

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Presented by and benefiting Art Sanctuary, the Amuse Les Sens Soiree returns Saturday, March 24, at Mellwood Arts & Entertainment Center, 1860 Mellwood Ave.
The event will be held in the center’s Grand Ballroom from 7 p.m. until 2 a.m., and will feature nearly 70 artists each displaying two to five pieces of their original work for sale in a variety of media, live local bands, merchandise tables and interactive art. Food will be provided by Jenicca’s Café and Wine Bar. Admission is $10.
Bands currently set to perform are The Vampire Squid, Anton Mink and St. Device. DJ Kaleidoscope and DJ Veritas also will provide musical stylings. Merchandise for sale will include jewelry, glasswork, handmade soaps and other items. Two comic book artists also will be on hand to show their work.
Art Sanctuary’s signature event draws about 350-800 guests, and past venues have included Riverbend Winery, Petrus Nightclub, Felice Vineyards and Flame Run. The most recent Soiree was held in August.
About Art Sanctuary: Founded in Louisville in 2004, Art Sanctuary was formed around the humanist principle that "Your Life is Your Art." As a community arts collective, its mission is to provide support for local artists through promotions, events and education. Its services are made available to all local talent who need a place to exhibit, perform or create their original artwork, especially those who cannot obtain space to exhibit or perform from traditional sources because of financial or other limitations.
