Shepherdsville City Council lowers real property tax

SHEPHERDSVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – The Shepherdsville City Council are making changes to property taxes.

Councilmember Larry Hatfield says the council has lowered the tax from 1.4 percent to 1.39 percent.

No changes have been made to personal property tax.

The decision comes days after it was supposed to be discussed at a regularly scheduled council meeting.

Hatfield says they’re not ready to pick a new mayor after Scott Ellis’ resignation but the conversion is moving forward.
