SHEPHERDSVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – Scott Ellis has resigned from his position as Shepherdsville mayor for a second time. This comes seven months after his first letter of resignation which was recently overruled by a judge.
Ellis’ attorney, John Cook, said the second letter of resignation was filed at 4 p.m. on September 6, and the issues with the original letter have been resolved. The judge had overruled the first letter, saying it was incomplete.
Ellis sent his original letter in February after allegedly making promises to three women in exchange for sexual favors. The same day, members of the council elected Brian James, a as the new mayor.
