Refugees promote peace in walk with LMPD

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – Refugees in Louisville united as one Tuesday evening while showing unity and building relationships with police.

Their peace walk was an introduction of themselves to law enforcement.

Officials with Catholic Charities help to relocate hundreds of families to Louisville who are in danger in their home countries.

LMPD officers were on hand to explain to many in attendance their role in the city.

In light of recent events about refugees, organizers say events like this are more important than ever.
