LOUISVILLE (WHAS11) – A 30-year-old was arrested on Tuesday, Sept. 13, at Preston and Jefferson streets after an officer heard him talking about a spice blunt at a known place for loitering and drug use.
According to the police report, Rue Shanyfelt was observed by an LMPD officer, who is familiar with Shanyfelt, and had approached Shanyfelt from the behind discreetly and without him being aware of the officer’s presence.
The officer saw a partially smoked spice joint in Shanyfelt’s right hand, according to police. Shanyfelt then yelled, according to police, to someone who was walking by, “Hey, I got this blunt man.”
The officer proceeded to make presence known to Shanyfelt and put one hand in handcuffs but Shanyfelt tossed the blunt on the ground to discard it.
The blunt was recovered by the officer, according to the police report.
Police said Shanyfelt had been arrested less than 24 hours prior to this incident.
Shaneyflet is charged with tampering with physical evidence and possession of synthetic drugs.
