Police: Missing Boyle County teen found in New Mexico

DANVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – Kentucky State Police say they’ve located a missing Boyle County teenager a couple of days after her stepmother was found dead.

According to police 15-year-old Jenna Oakley was located by the Tucumcari Police Department and Quay County Sheriff’s Office around 9 p.m. MDT in the parking lot of a Motel 6 in Tucumcari, Mexico Saturday.

Police sent out bulletins after her stepmother Rhonda Oakley was found dead in her home on Old Hustonville Road Thursday. The initial investigation says Rhonda was killed inside her home but no further details surrounding her death were made available.

Jenna was found unharmed and was with 20-year-old Kenneth Nigh of Arlington, Indiana.

Both were sitting in the white Honda Civic that was reported stolen the same day of Rhonda’s death.

Nigh was arrested and charged with one count of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. He’s currently housed at the Quay County Detention Center.

Police are treating Rhonda’s death as a homicide. There are no suspects.

The investigation is ongoing.
