Lewis and Clark bridge reopened after abandoned truck incident

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – The Metro Police Bomb Squad closed Interstate 265 southbound and northbound from Indiana to Kentucky Sunday after they say a man abandoned his truck on the Lewis and Clark Bridge in eastern Jefferson County.

A TRIMARC official saw the suspicious activity and called the police, who promptly shut down the interstate to investigate.

“TRIMARC – when they observed the vehicle stopped, got out of the truck and ran across the interstate and sort of disappeared and that appeared to be suspicious type of behavior,” John Bradley, an LMPD Public Information Office commander, said.

A remote-controlled robot was used to investigate the abandoned truck.

Police did not find anything suspicious in the vehicle and reopened the bridge after two hours.

Police say the driver of the truck has not been found.
