LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – As communities continue to look for ways to curb increasing violence, Metro Police and residents will continue monthly peace walks.
The Portland neighborhood will have their first peace walk on Sep. 8 at 26th and Rowan Streets. That walk is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.
The second walk is scheduled for Sep. 20 at 6 p.m., kicking off at 22nd and Lytle Streets.
The goal of the walks initiated by LMPD Chief Steve Conrad is to build positive relationships between officers and the residents they serve.
