AT&T restores emergency call services after nationwide outages

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – Some AT&T customers in several cities across the country experienced difficulty placing 911 calls. Those services are now restored.

AT&T sent us this statement: "Service has been restored for wireless customers affected by an issue connecting to 911.  We apologize to those affected."

According to MetroSafe, the Louisville area did not experience these outages. They released a statement which said, in part: "Should any AT&T wireless customers have difficulty reaching 911, they should try calling from a different cell provider or landline phone. If those options are unavailable, people can call 574-2111 or 574-7111 to reach the MetroSafe 911 Communications Center where their call."
