Mother of Hallmark homicide victim: He didn't deserve to die

Mother grieves son's death after Ratcliffe Ave. homicide

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – The mother of the teen killed in a shooting in the Hallmark shooting is asking for the violence to end.

Tracy Faulkner’s 19-year-old son Stephan was shot in the 2300 block of Ratcliff Avenue on Nov. 17. He died from his injuries two days later.

Faulkner said while her son may have had a checkered past, he didn’t deserve to die.

She says she did everything she could to protect her son until violence came to her very doorstep.

“Whatever he did in his past, I don’t know and I really don’t care to know – but I know I tried to protect him from drama that I knew was going on in the streets. And it’s sad when you can’t protect your child when they get killed at your house on your front porch,” she said.

Faulkner said Stephan was supposed to start a new job on Monday.

A second person was injured in that shooting and is expected to be okay. Police have not released his identity.
