LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – The team that comes to the public’s aid during an emergency is now circling around one of their own.
Members of MetroSafe held a fundraiser Monday for one of their dispatchers battling breast cancer.
The group held a cookout and a raffle in downtown Louisville to help pay for Karen Bishop’s medical battle.
Bishop said she is grateful for the support.
“I was diagnosed with breast cancer of October 4 and we’ve been going through surgeries and chemo and various treatments and they’ve decided to step up and help us out to deal with some of the medical expenses we’ve been incurring,” she said.
Organizers said you can support Bishop by making a donation at any Chase Bank location.
