Woman's body recovered after vehicle pulled from Ohio River

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – A death investigation is underway after police retrieve a body from a vehicle that went into the Ohio River in southwest Jefferson County Tuesday.

Police responded to the Greenwood Boat Ramp at Riverview Park around 8 p.m. after witnesses reported a car had been driven into the water.

Divers with PRP and Louisville Fire were able to locate the vehicle and later found a woman’s body after nearly four hours at the scene. Police had no further information.

The coroner's office released the identity of the woman on Wednesday. Thirty-nine-year-old Robin White's cause of death and manner of death are pending. 

The Homicide Unit is investigating.
