LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – Mayor Greg Fischer and city leaders are reaching out to the community to help redevelop a piece of property in west Louisville.
The city is looking for a unique proposal to redevelop Heritage West on W. Muhammad Ali Boulevard in the Russell neighborhood.
Leaders want proposals that focus on sustainability, livability and connectivity among other goals.
Mayor Fischer says he’s looking forward to seeing what happens with the unique pieces of property.
“We do not have 24 acres of contiguous land like this together in hardly any place in our city. So this represents tremendous possibility and tremendous opportunity for the entire city and particularly here in west Louisville. So we’re excited about what this land can be,” he said.
Those interested in submitting ideas are encouraged to attend upcoming informational sessions at Heritage West.
The first will be held on April 13 at 5:30 p.m. and the other, April 15 at 9:30 a.m.
