Man changes account of what lead to Jennings Co. accident

JENNINGS CO., Ind. (WHAS11) -- A man charged in a crash that killed his girlfriend has changed his account of what lead up to that wreck that killed his girlfriend Nikki Reed. Bell survived several days before crawling to the side of the road with a broken leg.

Bell originally told investigators that Reed was showing him pictures on a cell phone, when he lost control on Highway 50, went down an embankment and hit a tree.

Police arrested Bell at an Indianapolis hospital Monday and now the story has changed.
He told police that Nikki Reed started touching him sexually which distracted him and caused him to crash.

Bell also claims Reed's cell phone was ringing, but that he was trapped and could not find it.

Bell is charged with driving on a suspended license, leaving the scene of an accident, failure to report a dead body and giving false information.
