Louisville bar owner files defamation lawsuit after sexual misconduct allegations

         

LOUISVILLE (WHAS11) – A Louisville bar owner has filed a defamation lawsuit after a recent social media controversy.

According to Louisville Business First, Haymarket Whiskey Bar on East Market Street closed it’s doors a few weeks ago after sexual assault allegations were posted about the owner, Matt Landan, on Facebook.

Landan filed the lawsuit on Wednesday against several people involved in the social media accusations.

The lawsuit says Landan has received threats directly related to the social media posts and the people named in the lawsuit.

Landan’s attorney says the allegations are false and no charges have been filed against him.
