LaRue County Schools superintendent terminates principal facing child pornography charges

Larue High School principle fired

LOUISVILLE (WHAS11) --  LaRue County Schools terminated Kyle Goodlett’s employment on Oct. 18 and it is effective immediately.

Goodlett was the principal of LaRue County High School and is facing 60 counts of possession and three counts of distribution of matter portraying a sex performance by a minor.

Superintendent Sam Sanders said Assistant Principal Chris Price will continue to fulfill principal duties at LaRue County High School.

Denise Skaggs, the district’s instructional supervisor and former principal at LaRue County Intermediate School was also temporarily assigned to the high school as part of the administration team.

Sanders will be scheduling a meeting with the high school’s site-based decision-making council to decide the next steps. The council may request Sanders to appoint an interim principal or may decide to begin the process of hiring a permanent principal according to LaRue County Schools.

Goodlett was arrested earlier in October following an undercover Internet Crimes Against Children investigation. Their investigation began after a complaint was filed with the Elizabethtown Police Department.

KSP is continuing their investigation into Goodlett.

Goodlett has a preliminary hearing scheduled for October 24.
