JCPS principals qualified to lead improvement efforts, state review says

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- A state review shows two JCPS elementary principals have the capacity to lead their schools' improvement efforts.

The Kentucky Department of Education says Maupin Principal Maria Holmes and Wellington Principal Brandi Carney will be able to lead turnaround efforts.

However, the KDE did determine the Site-Based Decision Making Council at Maupin does not have capacity and will be dissolved.

The leadership reviews were required because Maupin and Wellington are listed as priority schools.
