No serious injuries in car vs. train crash in Sellersburg

Driver leaves after colliding with train

CLARK Co., Ind. (WHAS11) -- A back bumper is all that's left at a Sellersburg railroad crossing, after police say a driver left the scene of a collision.

It happened on State Road 60 and US 31.

Chief William Whelan says it's unclear whether the mother saw the train and tried to beat it or didn't see it all all.

The train hit the rear of her car, at which point she continued on to a local hospital to get treatment for her child in the back seat.

The injuries do not appear to be major. It's unknown if the mother will face any charges.
