Police arrest 15-year-old in Clarksville fire investigation

CLARKSVILLE, Ind. (WHAS11) -- The Clarksville police said they have arrested a 15-year-old in connection to a Wednesday's fire.

The fire started on Wednesday, around 4:30 p.m., in a parking lot near Tom Stinnett RV company, off of Marriott Drive. The parking lot is where the company stores RVs.

The smoke from the fire could be seen from miles away, even in Louisville.

RVs and mattresses were damaged in the fire. Clarksville Fire Chief Brandon Skaggs says hundreds of mattresses were on fire. Those flames started spreading to the nearby RV’s, some of which had propane tanks in them.

No one was injured in the fire.

The investigation into the fire is ongoing, according to Detective Scott Merchant.
