Clarksville board votes not to extend superintendent's contract

CLARKSVILLE, Ind. (WHAS11) – The Clarksville Board of School Trustees have voted not to renew superintendent Kimberly Knott’s contract.

The 5-0 vote came down during a board meeting Tuesday evening.

Knott joined the school system in 2008 as assistant superintendent, served as interim superintendent in 2009 and was hired as superintendent in July 2010.

“We are appreciative of Dr. Knott’s time with us and her financial expertise,” Bill Wilson, Board of Trustees President, said in a statement. “The board feels that it is time to move in a different direction and wish all of the best to Dr. Knott as she continues with her career after the end of the school year.”

Officials say Knott will continue as superintendent until her contract expires at the end of June 2017.
