Indiana to vote on new Sunday alcohol sales

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Sunday alcohol sales in the Hoosier state take another step forward, but with a catch.

The legislative panel agreed on changing state law to allow sales at some stores, but only for eight hours.

The Indiana alcohol code revision commission is recommending the state allow alcohol sales on Sundays between noon and 8 p.m.

This comes days after two organizations agreed to support Sunday sales, excluding beer.

State lawmakers are expected to discuss and vote on the idea during the legislative session next year.
