Earlier the Vice President’s spokesperson told WHAS11 that the pair would take part in an event focusing on the repeal and replacement of the Affordable Care Act also known as “Obamacare”. The White House has yet to announce where, when or who may be allowed inside the event. A spokesman for Vice President Pence told us that the former Indiana Governor would visit with owners of small businesses impacted by the ACA.

The stop in Kentucky will not involve Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell. A spokesman for Kentucky’s senior senator said he had been meeting frequently with the vice president and was “appreciates his availability” but Leader McConnell would not be at Saturday’s event.

Senator Rand Paul has been one of the most outspoken opponents of the Obamacare replacement plan being pitched by House Republicans and President Donald Trump. Thursday Senator Paul tweeted a link encouraging voters to fight the plan and donate money to the effort.

President Trump tweeted that he felt the health care replacement plan was coming together and would be a “beautiful picture” when completed.
