Friends remember mother of 3 killed in Lyndon

Friends support family of New La Grange Rd. homicide victim

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – A lover of fun and Michael Jackson

“She loved to turn on some Michael Jackson and slide around the room. She was just a really neat, neat person,” Lori Hargis, longtime friend and business partner, said.

With a positive outlook on everything in life.

“Tiffany just lit up the room.  She was just really the light to anything she entered. Anything she was involved in,” Hargis said.

But Hargis says to her good friend Tiffany Thompson, her most important role was being a mother of three.

“When I woke up Sunday morning after having heard about this, my immediate thought was just her babies.  And I knew that would be her number one worry--her babies, what's going to happen to my babies,” she said.

And that's why Hargis knew she had to do something.  Police say Tiffany Thompson, 38, was found shot to death on a sidewalk on New Lagrange Road in Lyndon early Saturday morning.  Friends say she had stayed over someone's house that night and then decided to leave, walking down the sidewalk.

“We don't believe that she was dumped there, we believe that the incident occurred right where she was found- in that 7500 block of New La Grange Road,” Emily McKinley, LMPD homicide detective, said.

Since then Hargis and several other friends decided to start open bank accounts and launch a website for her kids.

“She was a very devoted mother and she left behind three babies who need help and need support,” Hargis said.

Police say they do not have any suspects at this time but they do not think it was a random murder. But Hargis says she hopes someone will come forward.

“We need justice for this. This is horrible. This could've been anybody's sister, anybody's daughter, anybody's mother.  There's got to be somebody that knows something and they need to come forward and they need to help the police,” she said.
