Tired of the timing of road construction projects around Louisville? That frustration goes back 30 years.

In 1981, WHAS general manager Bob Morse was firing back at the state in his weekly editorials. The editorials  won awards because he left the studio and showed you what he meant – he would report right from the areas, like Louisville’s overgrown and industrial waterfront.

Morse died in 2006 at the age of 69. During an interview years ago he said he was most proud of those editorials because they shook things up.

Robin Hughes, a longtime Louisville resident and  a WHAS11 journalist at the time, wrote every one of the editorials for Morse. She won several of the nation's top journalism awards for her work.
