SHELBY CO., Ky. (WHAS11) – One of UK's most popular basketball players has died.
Charles Hurt, who played in the dream game that matched UK and UofL for the first time in a quarter century, is dead at the age of 55.
Hurt was a star out of Shelby County High School.
Hurt played for Coach Joe B. Hall.
Jack Goose Givens tells the Lexington Herald Leader, Hurt died on Friday after a long battle with Leukemia.
Hurt recently received stem cell transplants.
In 2012, he became an assistant coach at Shelby County High.
