Elizabethtown Police Department urges people to lock vehicles after thefts from vehicles

ELIZABETHTOWN, Ind. (WHAS11) – The Elizabethtown Police Department says they had multiple reports of thefts from vehicles over the weekend.

In a Facebook post, the department says most of the vehicles did not contain valuables and only change and other odds and ends were taken.

The EPD says vehicle thefts are still the most common type of property crime in Elizabethtown and the most preventable.

The department says vehicle owners should not leave valuables in their vehicles and keep the vehicles locked.
