Elevators at senior apartment complex temporarily fixed

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – Senior citizens in an east Louisville apartment complex that have been without an elevator, can now breathe a sigh of relief, for now.

Shalom Towers has been without elevator service for nearly a week after a sprinkler head apparently broke off, flooding the elevators and causing problems in two elevators.

Officials with the property say both elevators are up and running but maintenance workers are waiting for new parts to arrive.

The elevators are expected to shut down again when the parts arrive while crews replace the parts. No timeline has been given.
