LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Employees of the Brown-Forman Cooperage on MaClean Avenue were evacuated Thursday afternoon because of a fire.

We are told that they had a fire at the bag house which is a facility that collects the sawdust to keep it from escaping into the atmosphere.

No injuries were reported. Due the fire, the Brown-Forman Cooperage will be closed at least through the weekend, so most employees should not report to work on Friday.

Maintenance employees do need to report to work for their normal shift on Friday.  All employees should call 502-774-6771 by 4 p.m. on Sunday to learn whether the plant will re-open on Monday.
