LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS 11)--Plans are being made by the Iroquois High Football Team after donations are funneling in from both the community and the NFL Arizona Cardinals.
It's been a long journey to receive a check via Fed-Ex for $2,700.
The coach's brother, Corey Peters, who plays for the Arizona Cardinals rallied his team to help. They had heard about his brother taking his team out into the Beechmont and Iroquois neighborhoods, to take out trash, mow lawns and get to know their neighbors.
$2,200 was sent to the Iroquois Raiders from the Cardinals but that check never arrived.
Fed-Ex replaced that amount and added an extra $500.
The Coach says he's working to plan college tours next summer for his student-athletes and many who may have never left the city limits of Louisville.
Other donations continue to come in from community members and churches here locally who have taken an interest in the work this team is doing off the field.
