(WHAS 11)-- The Kentucky Humane Society is caring for two kittens who were apparently thrown out of a moving vehicle in Nelson County.
Susan McKellep of Louisville was leaving the Heaven Hill Distillery in Bardstown when she spotted several dead kittens on Gilkey Run Road.
She stopped and found these two kittens alive.
McKellep named them Julep and Rye since they were found on the Bourbon Trail.
They're only about a month old.
Julep and Rye are with an experienced KHS foster, who specializes in medical and behavioral fosters.
They will be there for a month until they can be spayed or neutered and then put up for adoption.
Police in Nelson County are looking for witnesses in an effort to track down the person responsible.
