LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Family members are hoping for a turnaround at a local cemetery and are looking for a helping hand.
After the desecration of St. Stephens Cemetery was brought to light the caretaker was fired, however the problems at the graveyard were far from over.
Family members are still unsure of where their loved ones are buried, headstones are missing and the grounds destroyed.
Now, the board is hosting a volunteer clean-up day hoping to make this a burial loved ones deserve.
The clean-up efforts will be from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at St. Stephens Cemetery on South Preston Street.
Anyone who wants to help is welcome.
