City looking for 40-foot tree for ‘Light Up Louisville'

LOUISVILLE (WHAS11) -- The city of Louisville is looking for someone to donate a large Christmas tree that will stand in Jefferson Square Park during the holidays.

Louisville Metro says the tree should be a spruce fir, about 40 feet tall and well-shaped. The city will cut and transport the tree to 6th and Jefferson Streets.

If you are interested in donating a tree you are asked to call MetroCall 311. If your tree is accepted, you will be thanked at the Light Up Louisville sponsor reception. The date for this has yet to be determined.

The annual Light Up Louisville is held on the day after Thanksgiving, Nov. 25.
